Hexagon, a global leader in industrial technology, sponsored this multidisciplinary collaboration, bringing together a team of designers selected by SCADpro. Together, we developed a scalable exhibition system for 10 × 20 m, 20 × 20 m, and 40 × 40 m trade show configurations. A shared framework aligns circulation, fixtures, signage, and environmental graphics across booth sizes and global venues.
My contributions included furniture and fixture concepts, modular booth system development, and exhibition stand layouts. Each element was designed to support clear circulation, product storytelling, and a consistent visitor experience across booth sizes.
Hexagon presents complex technologies at global trade shows, where booth footprints, venue requirements, and production conditions vary between events. Each environment still needs to communicate one recognizable brand while guiding visitors from first impression to product discovery.
In collaboration with SCADpro, the team developed a modular booth framework across three scales. Shared principles for layout, circulation, furniture, signage, environmental graphics, and interactive touchpoints allow the experience to adapt without losing brand consistency.
Challenge
A fixed layout could not support different booth footprints, while designing every environment from scratch would increase production effort and fragment the brand experience.
The system needed to standardize essential components without making each booth feel generic. Visitor flow, demonstration areas, furniture, signage, and content had to adapt to each footprint while maintaining a clear and engaging journey.
The final framework also needed to translate design intent into practical guidance that regional teams could reproduce consistently across global venues.
Goal
Create a production-ready modular booth system that adapts across events while preserving clear circulation, consistent product storytelling, and a unified Hexagon brand experience.
Modular information stands
Freestanding panels turn complex product capabilities into clear, scannable stories while guiding visitors through the booth. Their modular format adapts across booth sizes while preserving hierarchy and brand consistency.
Furniture & fixture library
The playbook defines a reusable furniture and fixture library built around a consistent 40:60 ratio of wood to white or neutral materials. Each component is cataloged, flat-packable, and designed for tool-free assembly, allowing local teams to adapt booth layouts while preserving the intended hierarchy, material balance, and brand consistency.

One grid, every footprint
Every wall, fixture, and lighting run sits on a 1.25 metre module. A dimension drawn once reads the same to a fabricator in any region, with no interpretation left to the site.

Personas by time
Visitors are grouped by dwell time rather than demographics, by how long they stay and by how they move.

Capture zone
Attracts attention at entry through bold visuals and motion, expressing Hexagon’s precision instantly.

Create zone
Encourages hands-on exploration through modular displays and live interactions.

Immerse zone
Blends digital and physical experiences to create deeper engagement.

Activate zone
Builds trust through data, storytelling, and focused interaction.

3D Render
Visualise how every component of the system, from spatial layout to materiality to lighting, interacts as one cohesive ecosystem.
Physical Scale Model
Built a physical scale model to communicate the proposed booth layout, circulation, and experience zones. It clarified spatial relationships and component placement for the client presentation.
